17 Oct. 2005. Back in Action!! Well sort of. Feeling much better after the forth surgery (hopefully the last) and have posted my new address in the contact me section. I will start posting the stack of memories I have received since my slight health problem put me in dry dock. Thanks so much for you understanding!!

20 June. Finally made it to our new berth!!!! Have posted Pete Funks 2002 reunion Pictures.

25 May. We will be moving to our new web page WWW.DE679.Com soon. I have ran into all sorts of trouble with getting it right. Plus I have been dealing with some health issues that has knocked me on my backside!! After we move to this new site I will keep the old Tripod site up as and archive.

01 May. Updated Crew List section. Still working on the stack of pictures Mr. Heinen and Mr. McGinnis sent in. These will be in the 46-49 time frame.

22 Dec. We were honored today by Military.com with their Distinguished Site Award. Thanks to all who unselfishly shared their time, and memories to make this web site what it is today. To view those special men please go to the Credits section.

19 NOV. Updated Crew List section. Added pictures from the 2001 Omaha reunion, While there take the DE679 Assn Poll!. Added several new pictures to Crew 3.

7 Sept. Added several new pictures of the USS Greenwood, some in drydock to the SHIP 1 section. Thanks to Mr. Henry Beazley. TM3c.

16 Aug. Added several new pictures of the USS Greenwood in the SHIP 1 section. Updated Crew List.

26 July. Added Destroyer Division 601 crest to History of USS Greenwood. This is the logo painted on the Stack of all the Destroyers in 601. Submitted by Scott Abney, in memory of his Dad James H. Abney Staff Signalman DESDIV 601. 1962-65.

09 July. Added a whole new section to the web page. OTHER DE's, accessed from the HOME page. I have been getting many requests for info about other ships. To help preserve the history of the DE, if you send me your pictures/memories. I will make a section for your ship, as long as my web space holds out. I have also, thumbnail the large pictures of the ship for faster loading. This came be reached in SHIP 1, from the Photo Gallery.

01May. Updated Rogues Gallery, Crew List. Added new picture of the Greenwood with 5"38's in Ship 1 under Photo Gallery's.

27 April. Updated crews list. Added info in LT. Greenwood USS Erie section. Submitted by Frances Wentz Taber, daughter of LT. Ned Wentz , who was killed aboard the PG50 along with LT. Greenwood.

18 April. Updated crew list. I am now in the process of revamping this web site. Adding thumbnails to help the pages load faster, inserting stories and explanations about the pictures. During this time, expect lots of bugs,(FUBAR) and something's might not work as planned. So please bear with me during construction.

14 April. Added a new page under LT. Greenwood/ USS Erie PG-50. This page will detail more of LT Frank Greenwood and the sinking of the USS Erie. Special Thanks goes out to Mr. Jon Balson who submitted the after action reports.

11 April. I am back!! I hope you all liked the write up about the 2000 reunion in the DESA national news paper. I will be working to get caught up with the picture / e-mail back log.

20 Jan. Updated the Rogues Gallery. Added a new pic of the USS Greenwood, in Ship Section under Photo Gallery. Added article on the USS Greenwood in Artifacts section. These new additions were sent in by Mr. George McGinnis.

26 Nov. Mr. Jon Balson has sent a picture of LT. Frank Greenwood!!!!!! This is our first look at the man who named our ship!!!!!! I have made a new page just for this exciting occasion !! Also, Updated our Crew list. More info to come from Mr. Balson on the PG50.

25 Sept. Updated Crew list/Rogues Gallery/ Crew section 2 from info I received at the DESA National Convention in Albany. Added Crew 3 page in Photo Gallery. I changed "Reunion Info Page" into Reunion Picture Page. As soon as I get the Group pictures back I will send them to DESA news for publishing. If you have anything you would like to say for DESA News let me know by 29 Sept!!!!!!

7 August. Added A bulletin board system from Military.com. It is located in the Crew list section. I just put it together so there might be some bugs in it. But go ahead and give it a try! Added some more links.
